Taipei Veterans General Hospital ‘Beirong No. 1 Cloud’ adopts 32 A100 GPUs to accelerate the development of a smart hospital. Hualien Tzu Chi leverages AI to fully develop smart healthcare.

Taipei Veterans General Hospital (TVGH) recently held a celebration event for achieving 100 cases of carbon ion cancer therapy and 5,000 Da Vinci robotic surgeries. During the event, they also inaugurated the nation’s first negative pressure ICU and the “Beirong No. 1 Cloud” supercomputer. Veterans Affairs Council Minister Feng Shih-Kuan attended the ceremony and praised Dr. Chen Wei-Ming and the TVGH team for their outstanding accomplishments in cancer treatment, epidemic prevention, and smart healthcare. He expressed hope that the hospital network would continue to work together to provide high-quality medical services.

Building a Four-Node Supercomputer Based on the NVIDIA DGX A100 Architecture

Guo Chen-Tsung, Director of the Information Office at TVGH, shared that the “Beirong No. 1 Cloud” was built referencing the NVIDIA DGX A100 AI supercomputer architecture. It consists of four nodes with a total of 32 A100 GPUs, interconnected via NVLink and high-speed networking switches, forming a powerful cluster computing platform.

This infrastructure will accelerate the hospital’s development in precision and smart medicine—including predictive disease prognosis, genetic sequence data analysis, digital pathology diagnostics, intelligent drug development, pre-surgical simulation, natural language processing, voice platform development, and even AR/VR 3D model training.
